Sutton Women’s Centre is recruiting to add to our Board of Trustees and we are looking for volunteers who are committed to making a difference in the lives of women in the local area. As a trustee, you will use your skills and experience to support SWC and help it achieve it’s aims. We would particularly welcome CVs from volunteers who are keen to focus on one of the following roles Secretary, Treasurer, Fundraising and Income Generation and Marketing.

About us Our Mission Statement “Providing a safe, women-only space where women can access support, advice, information and education to help them achieve their potential, develop their skills and live their lives free from domestic abuse” We have been supporting women and girls for over 35 years and are a unique organisation within the London Borough of Sutton delivering services to meet the needs of local women. We are a place of hard work and hope, of empathy and empowerment. The Centre is a safe-space for counselling, increasing communication between women or just learning something new. Our workshops and classes are very well attended and creche facilities are available, giving local women the opportunity to enjoy painting, write that bestseller they’ve been meaning to or even upskill with our Job Club. As we look towards 2025, we are recruiting trustees who are passionate about supporting the empowerment of women, and would particularly welcome CVs from volunteers who are keen to focus on one of the following roles Secretary - Ensuring that the organisation complies with Charity Commission regulations and that the recording of our board meetings, Committee meetings and AGM are all in order. Treasurer - Ensuring that the financial affairs and financial administration of the organisation are conducted within legal requirements, accounting conventions and good practice Fundraising/Income generation - Experience and skills in identifying grants and funds, supporting bid writing, and devising and supporting fundraising events Marketing - Support us in raising our profile including social media, website, newsletters and event marketing
