Do you live in Hackney or nearby boroughs, like meeting new people and handy in the kitchen? We always welcome volunteers to help us prepare delicious plant-based meals that are later distributed to homeless and vulnerable groups. When? Thursdays ONLY. We run 2 sessions, you can do either morning or afternoon. (9am-12:30pm and 1pm-approx 5:30pm)
Thursdays AM and PM sessions. Group cooking that includes the preparation of all the elements for a delicious plant-based meal. During this activity, the group will learn some knife skills, they will work together and most importantly they will produce a delicious meal that is later distributed to homeless and vulnerable groups. NO previous cooking experience is required as we have chefs that softly guide the sessions!

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working in a team and have a ‘can do’ attitude. No previous volunteering experience is needed for this role, but enthusiasm for food preparation is good!
A fun morning or afternoon with the very rewarding result of having helped prepare meals to feed the most vulnerable and at risk members of our community. You also get a free lunch - tasting some of the delicious meals made by our volunteers. We also offer our volunteers a free certified Food Safety & Hygiene courses. And all AMURT London Feeding Programme volunteers get a 10% discount in our "Food for All" health food store and herbal dispensary.
Mornings: 3.5 hours Afternoons: 4.5 hours
