Tuesday Club

Tuesday Club is a new service for those living with dementia and their Carers and is run by Carshalton Methodist Church. We are looking for volunteers to help us with the following:- Help the clients to engage in activities. Socialise with clients. Play games and get involved in activities as needed. Serve drinks and food. Tidy up after food and activities. Welcome clients to the club. Other tasks as asked for by the Tuesday Club Manager and Organiser.

Detailed Description

To support Tuesday Club staff in the running the club, with focus on activities and socialising with the clients. Tuesday Club is a new service for those living with dementia and their Carers and is run by Carshalton Methodist Church. We are looking for volunteers to help us with the following:- - Help the clients to engage in activities. - Socialise with clients. - Play games and get involved in activities as needed. - Serve drinks and food. - Tidy up after food and activities. - Welcome clients to the club. - Other tasks as asked for by the Tuesday Club Manager and Organiser. Why these skills are required

Tuesday Club volunteers are friendly, patient and reliable. They understand the needs of older people and can empathise with them. They can demonstrate strong listening and communication skills. Some knowledge of dementia would be useful; however, training will be given as part of your induction.

Time Commitment

Tuesday Club runs every Tuesday 10.30-12.30 from the 24th September. We are looking for several volunteers to work on a rota basis which suits you We only ask that you maintain the commitment you choose to make.
