Detailed Description

If you are over 18, have a willingness to support families achieve positive changes, an understanding of the effects domestic abuse has on adults and children and are able to build trusting relationships and offer emotional and practical support then we’d love to hear from you. Can you help local families put the pieces back together after experiencing domestic abuse? We are looking for Volunteers in Sutton and Merton for the Helping Hands Project at Jigsaw4u; to support and befriend individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse. A commitment of just 2 hours a week when it is convenient to you can make a big difference to the lives of the families we support. Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. We welcome volunteers from all communities with different skills, experiences and backgrounds. Jigsaw4u provide full training and ongoing support to all our volunteers. An Enhanced DBS Check and 2 personal references are required – Referees must have known you for a minimum of 2 years.
