CareDogs Befriender Volunteer
CareDogs Charity
As a CareDogs Befriender Volunteer you will be matched with an older person to visit them along with your dog for a walk or a chat.
Want to do good with your dog? Have a couple of hours spare a week? Then, please apply! You will be matched with an older person to visit them along with your dog for a walk or a chat. As a CareDogs Befriender Volunteer you will: - Have a dog that is friendly and excited to have a new friend - Be someone who enjoys meeting people and chatting - Be able to empathise with someone who may be experiencing social isolation - Be reliable and able to commit to regular walks/visits with your befriendee - Flag up any safeguarding concerns you may have to your volunteer coordinator - Send a short summary of your visit/walk each week to your volunteer coordinator - Have fun! Full training and one to one support from your volunteer coordinator is provided. We want to end social isolation (with the help of dogs) and encourage intergenerational volunteering opportunities in local communities.

Volunteers will be resilient and open-minded, as they may encounter views and ideas they do not necessarily agree with.
It's an amazing opportunity to give back to the Croydon community, help an older person feel less lonely and spend some time with a furry friend! Our team is extremely experienced in all areas that CareDogs covers. This means you'll receive the very best training and support.
