A volunteer dementia support befriender's comments, " I volunteered three years ago as a befriender initially visiting but during Covid times I became a telephone befriender and initially I was concerned that I might not have enough conversational topics, with a man I had never met face to face. I need not have worried, we chat twice a week covering childhood, careers, local areas, sport, current affairs, gardening, and recipes. "
