Fathers to Fathers Project Fathers to Fathers is a special mentoring project that seeks to support fathers in their fathering role. We recognize the importance of fathers in families, and the benefits to children when fathers are involved in an active way. We understand that fathers face many challenges in their parenting role, this is particularly the case if there is parental conflict, domestic abuse, separation, and problems with co-parenting. As part of this project, we want to engage with fathers in a positive and supportive way to ensure that their children are able to enjoy a good stable relationship and to achieve positive outcomes in their development. Peer mentoring is a useful and impactful way of engaging with fathers, in a meaningful way. We are looking for men who are able to commit 2-3 hours a week mentoring and supporting a father to empower him in his fathering role through mentoring and coaching. No special qualifications are necessary to become a Home-Start volunteer, but volunteers are usually parents or grandparents or those with an interest in, and experience of, young children and family life, or those who are interested in careers within social care. We welcome volunteers from all sections of the community.
