Our Administration and Carer Support Volunteer will provide administrative support to our specialist Support Team, uploading contacts onto our database, preparing promotional materials and booking counselling appointments with Carers.

Our Administration and Carer Support Volunteer will provide administrative support to our specialist Support Team, uploading contacts onto our database, preparing promotional materials and booking counselling appointments with Carers; alongside contacting Carers directly to see how they are doing and completing a ‘Carers Star’ outcome measurement tool with them (https://www.outcomesstar.org.uk/using-the-star/see-the-stars/carers-star). What skills are required for this role

Admin, Basic IT skills - internet & email, Communication Skills, Helpful & Caring

Why these skills are required

A clear communicator who can adapt how they communicate for a variety of audiences. An empathetic, supportive person who can help carers to identify what support they may need. Experience in using MS Office and other IT applications. Willingness to undertake mandatory training courses. Enjoys working as part of a team. All our volunteers and staff work within the Centre’s Confidentiality, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunity and Diversity Policies. Previous knowledge or experience in carer issues would be particularly appreciated but not essential. Previous experience in an administrative role would be appreciated but not essential.

What is in it for you

Supervision and support from the Adult Carers Preventative Support Services Manager. Induction and training. Reimbursement of travel expenses. References can be provided after 6 months of volunteering. A friendly and supportive atmosphere where you can learn new skills, make new friends and challenge yourself.

Time Commitment

7 hours per week (ideally one full day per week). Preferably either, Tue (open until 8pm), Wed, Thur or Fri.
