No skills or previous experience necessary. We will teach you how to use a variety of hand tools safely. We do however ask that volunteers consider themselves to have a good level of general fitness. This is due to the challenging ground conditions on site.
You will develop key practical skills and knowledge of the conservation sector. We will teach you how to use the tools and equipment safely and how to look after yourself and those around you. For those interested in ecology and habitat management you will learn why we do the things we do and how we expect it to affect the biodiversity end ecological communities of the site. Furthermore we will show you how to identify a wide variety of plant and animal species.
Task days will run from 10am - 3pm. We will meet every first Wednesday of the month and then weekly on Tuesdays thereafter. We do not expect volunteers to attend every session within the month but do ask that volunteers commit to attending at least once a month to keep up the skills.
