You will be paired with a young person aged 10-17 and lead one-to-one mentoring sessions.
You will be paired with a young person aged 10-17 and lead one-to-one mentoring sessions, supporting your mentee with academic skills, social and emotional development, and future thinking. Activities may include exploring university and career pathways, helping your mentee set goals, and being a positive and consistent role model. Mentoring sessions take place at IntoUniversity Brent, with some flexibility to have sessions online/virtual. You will also have the opportunity to attend group events with other mentoring pairs and celebrate your achievements at our annual Mentoring Celebration.

If you are a current university student or have graduated from any degree within the past five years and attend an eligible university, this opportunity could be for you! No prior experience working with young people is required.
Ongoing support from IntoUniversity staff, including mentoring resources, session ideas, and full safeguarding guidance. The opportunity to develop strong communication and active listening skills. Experience building leadership, confidence, and responsibility. A reference to support future applications and employment. Access to our volunteer rewards framework. Development sessions throughout your time volunteering with us, and after completing 10 mentoring sessions, access to exclusive professional development sessions with our corporate partners.
Mentoring sessions last one hour, with pairs meeting every two weeks throughout the academic year. Sessions can be scheduled around your availability and take place Monday to Friday, between 3 and 6 pm.
