Volunteer Tutors needed at our after-school Academic Support sessions to support secondary students.
Volunteer Tutors are needed at our after-school Academic Support programme to help secondary students with their homework. Sessions take place on Mondays and Thursdays between 3.45-5.45pm. You will get the chance to work with some amazing young people on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The young people come to the centre out of their own free will, as they want to see themselves improve and reach their full potential. Training and induction will be provided to all of our volunteers and a strong support network is in place from all of our members of staff.

Anyone who has an enthusiasm for education, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to use their initiative. We ask that our Academic Support volunteers have a minimum grade 4/C or higher in Maths and English, National 5s or Standard Grade at Credit Level, grades 1-2 (or equivalent).
Supporting young people at IntoUniversity is a rewarding experience as you can see students develop their academic and social skills over time. Through this volunteering experience, you will also develop your confidence working with young people, discovering new techniques to facilitate learning and positive behaviour management.
Approximately 1.5 hours per week. Our secondary Academic Support sessions take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-5:30pm, we brief volunteers prior to sessions and debrief with them after sessions. We ask that volunteers commit to 1 day per week.
