Support ESOL students with English, conversation, UK life, integration and companionship. 1hr/week.
Provide personalised one-to-one support and companionship to ESOL students at the Baytree Centre, helping develop English, understanding of life in the UK, integration, confidence and well-being. Support conversation skills, share cultural and community resources, reduce isolation, assist with accessing services, and maintain consistent communication. Requires empathy, patience, cultural sensitivity, good listening skills, reliability and sufficient English. 1 hour/week, Mon–Thu, 9am–3pm, for minimum 2 terms. Female applicants only, aged 18+.

Counselling
- Sufficient English to engage effectively in one-to-one conversations. - Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity. - Good interpersonal and listening skills. - Flexible and adaptable to varying schedules and needs. - Reliable, punctual, and committed to the agreed schedule. - Interest in community support, integration, and language development.
Gain experience in cross-cultural communication and mentoring. - Contribute to the integration and confidence of adult ESOL learners. - Be part of a welcoming and supportive volunteer community.
1 hour per week, Monday to Thursday between 9am and 3pm (exact day and time subject to each person’s availability). Minimum commitment of 2 terms for continuity and effectiveness.
