Adult Befriender Volunteer (Female)

Baytree Centre

Support ESOL students with English, conversation, UK life, integration and companionship. 1hr/week.

Detailed Description

Provide personalised one-to-one support and companionship to ESOL students at the Baytree Centre, helping develop English, understanding of life in the UK, integration, confidence and well-being. Support conversation skills, share cultural and community resources, reduce isolation, assist with accessing services, and maintain consistent communication. Requires empathy, patience, cultural sensitivity, good listening skills, reliability and sufficient English. 1 hour/week, Mon–Thu, 9am–3pm, for minimum 2 terms. Female applicants only, aged 18+.

Time Commitment
