The English-Speaking Union is looking for volunteer judges to support our national speaking and debating competitions. You’ll assess performances, discuss decisions with fellow judges and give supportive feedback that young people can use straight away. Volunteer once, twice or throughout the competition season. Opportunities run nationwide from November to June. No previous judging experience is needed. You’ll complete a 30–40-minute online training session, supported by a clear competition handbook. Volunteer once, twice or throughout the competition season — it’s up to you. Opportunities run from November to June, usually on weekday afternoons from 4pm. A typical commitment is one day, with around four hours needed. There are opportunities in and around North Tyneside, as well as across England and Wales.
