Join Sirens & Sparkles First Aid CIC as a Volunteer Grants & Funding Officer and help us identify funding for our inclusive clubs and activities for children and young people with SEND. Research grants, trusts and other funding opportunities, check eligibility, help prepare applications and proposals, gather supporting information and keep track of deadlines and outcomes. You may also help with project budgets and grant reporting where appropriate. This is a flexible role that can be carried out mainly from home, with guidance and support from the Director.

Previous experience of grant writing, bid writing, fundraising or research is welcome but not essential. We are looking for volunteers with good written communication, research and organisation skills, good attention to detail, and confidence using basic IT. You should be comfortable researching funding opportunities, reading grant criteria and guidance, keeping track of deadlines, and working with basic budgets and financial information. This is a shared role, with two volunteers working together on funding research and applications, alongside the Director. You should therefore be comfortable sharing information, communicating with another volunteer and working as part of a small team. Experience of grants, fundraising, research, project development or budgeting would be useful, but you do not need experience in all of these areas. Guidance and ongoing support will be provided.
Volunteering with Sirens & Sparkles First Aid CIC is an opportunity to develop your skills and gain practical experience in grants, funding and the voluntary sector. This is a flexible, mainly home-based volunteering role with no fixed working days or hours. Volunteers can usually complete funding research and application work at times that suit their availability. The two Grants & Funding Officers will work together, alongside the Director, and can divide tasks according to their skills, availability and application deadlines. The amount of time required may vary depending on current funding opportunities and deadlines. Some weeks may require little or no activity, while additional time may occasionally be needed when an application deadline is approaching. Regular communication between the funding volunteers and Director will be encouraged, but this can usually take place by email, telephone or video call. Occasional accessible in-person meetings may also be arranged where helpful. We are looking for volunteers who can provide ongoing support throughout the year rather than a fixed number of hours each week.
