You’ll help families and autistic adults access the support that best fits their needs
Volunteer for the award-winning Autism Support Plus programme and help autistic people and their families when they need it most. Our award-winning service provides practical, empathetic and expert support, delivered by staff and trained volunteers with specialist knowledge of autism. When and Where Volunteer from home between 9 am and 5 pm We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week. The role is flexible, and you can spread your 3 hours across two days to fit around your other responsibilities. To volunteer, you’ll need: A private mobile phone. A computer with internet

We welcome all those with a passion for supporting autistic people and family members. Skills and qualities you will have: Good communication and active listening skills. Sensitivity and empathy. Basic IT skills (MS Outlook, MS Teams). A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently Discretion, openness, and reliability.
Make a real impact: You’ll connect autistic people and family members to practical, empathetic, and expert led autism support, tailored to the stage of life they are in and the challenges they face. Feedback from both families and adults we support is overwhelmingly positive. 100% of callers say they would recommend the service, and many express relief and gratitude for the support they receive. Join a supportive team: You’ll be part of a supportive team of people dedicated to making a making a real difference to the lives of autistic people and their families. Learn and grow: Gain valuable new skills through expert training, including free access to our innovative e-learning modules on autism. Many of our volunteers have used the skills and knowledge they gained to help them get paid employment. Be recognised: We have yearly internal volunteer awards as well as participating in external events such as the Helpline Awards.
