To support the Facilities Team in maintaining clean, welcoming, and well-stocked hospitality areas.
To support the Facilities Team in maintaining clean, welcoming, and well-stocked hospitality areas at Shooting Star House, ensuring families, visitors, volunteers, and staff have access to refreshments in a safe and hygienic environment. • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across hospitality and refreshment areas. • Keep kitchen and beverage stations clean, tidy, and organised. • Monitor and replenish supplies such as tea, coffee, milk, snacks, and related consumables. • Check stock levels and expiry dates, particularly refrigerated items. • Support infection prevention and hygiene

• Reliable and proactive with a willingness to take initiative. • Understanding of good hygiene and infection control practices. • Good attention to detail. • Able to work independently and as part of a team. • Comfortable moving around the hospice to carry out light stocking and replenishment duties. • Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality. • Understands and maintains appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
• Full training and Induction for the volunteer role. • To make a valuable and worthwhile contribution to the services we provide • Ongoing Support from a line manager and the Volunteer Development team. • Reimbursement of agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our volunteer policy. • A monthly volunteer newsletter with news about the charity and any ad-hoc volunteering opportunities. • The possibility to switch volunteer roles if you decide that you would like to try something different. • An invite to our yearly Volunteer Thank You event. • An opportunity to provide feedback via our feedback forms, surveys and our Volunteer Forum.
Hours flexible – twice a week for a couple of hours each time with one shift ideally on a Thursday 1.30pm-3.30pm
