Volunteers to help us collect and redistribute surplus food from Borough Market to local charities.
Our collection volunteers at Borough Market: - Set up collection table - Take trolleys/bags to the Borough Market traders to collect surplus food donations - Weigh and organise the donated food - Help charities pack up their collections - Wipe down and pack up the collection table This opportunity is ideal for someone who lives or works in the London Bridge area as the timing of this opportunity is key. For Tuesday to Saturday collections, you would need to be available from 16:45-18:00 and 15:45-17:00 on Sundays. We’re looking for volunteers to commit to at least one day a month.

Nothing specific, just enthusiasm. Being able to walk or jog between different market vendors is helpful but if mobility is an issue, you could oversee weighing and organising donations at the collection table instead.
Volunteering with Plan Zheroes allows you to be a part of both the Borough Market and our own Plan Zheroes community. Lots of our volunteers attend regularly and so you will get to know people who likely live or work in the London Bridge area. Another benefit is that this is a very time efficient way to volunteer - our collection volunteers are only needed for about an hour, and our Borough Market location means that this could be an ideal end of day volunteering opportunity for those who work or live in the London Bridge area. This could also be a great corporate opportunity for organisations looking to get involved in the local community. We have previously worked with organisations where they might, for example, staff all Tuesday collections and they run an internal rotation to staff each week.
