Compost Volunteer at Calthorpe Community Garden
Calthorpe Community Garden
We are seeking nine enthusiastic volunteers to help us maintain and upgrade our compost systems
Thanks to recent funding, we have recently built nine new compost bays and acquired a hot bin. We now need help to make the most of our increased food waste capacity and our brand new bays for garden waste. We are keen as well to keep improving our residents compost scheme to increase participation and engagement and explore how it can be of greater benefit to the local community. The first step is to fill in our Application Form and review the full Volunteer Role Description. Please request the form and role description by emailing Marta at marta@calthorpeproject.org.uk

If you are passionate about sustainability, closed-loop practices, and making a real impact in your community, we would love to hear from you. Ideally you are Ok with physical work (carry weights, some woodworking repairs potentially) and have some experience recording data. An artistic inclination or interest in community engagement would be useful but completely optional.
In-depth, hands-on knowledge of how to set up and run every kind of composting system, from traditional bays to Bokashi and wormeries and how these systems can work in a community setting. You will get the chance to influence and actively partake in the improvement of our composting systems.
