Join our team of friendly receptionists who each cover one shift each week.
We are looking for three volunteers to cover our reception. Our office is a 10-minute walk from London Bridge, staff are friendly and welcoming, and volunteers tend to stay with us for long periods. Shifts are weekly on: - Mondays 12:30 - 4:00pm - Tuesdays 9:00 am - 12:30 pm - Wednesdays 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Preferably, you will be free to commit to a weekly shift for a least six months, or longer if possible. You will be: - Answering the phone, transferring to staff or passing messages on - Sending information out, dealing with post & welcoming visitors
Administration
Admin, Basic IT skills - internet & email
You will need to be: - fluent in English with good listening skills - reliable with good timekeeping - warm and friendly - confident using the telephone - able to use the computer although training will be given
Our office can be quiet sometimes, but not always, and your support will be vital to the smooth running of our office, particular when staff are in meetings or on phone calls. If you’re unsure if this role is for you, we can offer a trial period with a review after four weeks, and you are welcome to drop by for a coffee and a chat before you apply. We reimburse travel costs and provide free tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit. You will be invited to attend our annual volunteers summer party and other events throughout the year and have the opportunity to help in other ways if you are interested in doing more, at client events and community stalls for example. If you stay with us for a while, we are happy to provide references for you and there will be opportunities to learn; we offer a range on eLearning courses related to volunteering with us, IT skills, Mental Health Awareness, and many more. You will definitely receive a very warm welcome.
3.5 hours once a week, preferable for 6 months or longer.
