Join us as Support Lead for Evening Light, helping guide volunteers and create a warm, safe space.

Detailed Description

We’re looking for someone who can confidently lead our volunteer team during each session, support guests with compassion, and help maintain a safe and inclusive environment. You’ll welcome attendees, offer supportive conversation, guide volunteers when they need reassurance, and help manage the flow of the evening. You’ll also use your experience to identify when someone may need extra support and communicate this to Aspire staff. Your insight will help us refine our approach, strengthen our boundaries and ensure the project grows in a thoughtful, trauma‑informed way.

Qualities: -Calm, grounded and compassionate when supporting vulnerable adults -Non‑judgemental, patient and able to build trust quickly -Confident leading small teams and offering gentle guidance -Strong communication and listening skills -Reliable, consistent and able to maintain clear boundaries -Able to stay steady if someone is distressed or anxious Experience: -At least 3 years experience supporting people facing homelessness, rough sleeping or housing insecurity -Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and safe, respectful engagement -Ability to recognise when someone may need additional support and escalate appropriately
