ESOL TEACHER 1-1 support role

We are looking for teachers with a recognised ESOL qualification (CELTA or equivalent)
The ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) service is part of the Centre’s Employment and Learning Services. This also includes Digital Inclusion support and an Employment Team We also run activity based English conversation to small groups of parents in our family service. Our clients are refugees, migrants and asylum seekers who are unable to afford or access English classes at colleges. . We have many clients at the Centre who need one-to-one support with their English, mostly around listening and speaking, fluency and confidence building.

• You have a recognised ESOL qualification e.g. Cambridge (CELTA) or Trinity (CertTESOL) • You have excellent listening and clear communication skills. • You are able to encourage and motivate a person. • You are friendly, patient and reliable. • You will have the ability to get on with people from a wide range of backgrounds
• You will be supported by the Learning & Employment Manager and the Volunteer Coordinator • You will receive a Centre induction • You will receive online training on safeguarding • You will be reimbursed for reasonable and agreed ‘out of pocket’ expenses such as travel and for lunch if working a full day.
You will need to commit one hour or so each week to meet with your client for a period of 6 – 8 months
