As a Friends of Moorfields shop volunteer you will be on hand to support our shop team and staff to price goods, serve customers and answer queries. We are also looking for volunteers to operate our mobile shop (trolley service) to patients and staff around the hospital.

Detailed Description

As a Friends of Moorfields shop volunteer you will be on hand to support our shop team and staff to price goods, serve customers and answer queries. We are also looking for volunteers to operate our mobile shop (trolley service) to patients and staff around the hospital. This role is currently taking place at out Moorfields site at City Road. As a charity we will be relocating to our new center in summer 2027 based on St. Pancras Way NW1 0PE. Friends of Moorfields volunteers perform an extremely important job ensuring that all patients who come to Moorfields feel comfortable, reassured and receive the best possible treatment regardless of the outcome of their appointment. We require all volunteers to undergo the recruitment process which includes some online training and a DBS check. All volunteers must be willing to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week for 6 months. We will happily provide references/UCAS statements for all volunteers and can provide support in finding work opportunities.

We need calm, empathetic and understanding volunteers. You must be proactive in your support, and have excellent listening and communication skills.

The ability to make a real difference to patients experience and know you are doing good. We also provide support with volunteers by writing references/UCAS statements and lunch/refreshment vouchers are provided to anyone who volunteers for 3 hours or more.

Time Commitment

A once weekly slot of 3 hours or more, morning or afternoon ideally for 6 months.
