Route Marshal - Epping Forest Wildwood Trail Series
BCS Events
We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to support the Wildwood Trail Series!
Course Marshals will be positioned at key points along the route to ensure runners follow the correct direction and stay safely on the course. Your main responsibility is to guide runners and provide encouragement as they pass your marshal point.

Managing People
Volunteers must make their own way to the event location and to their marshal point. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide transport around the course. Marshal locations will be provided using What3Words or GPS coordinates, so volunteers must have a working mobile phone with signal to navigate to their position. Marshal roles are solo positions, so volunteers should be comfortable managing their location independently.
As a thank you for helping make the event possible, volunteers will receive: Free on-site parking A Wildwood Trail Series volunteer T-shirt A free hot drink from the catering van Free entry to a future Wildwood Trail Series event (this can also be gifted to a friend if you’re not a runner) Your support helps create a safe and enjoyable event for everyone involved, and we greatly appreciate you giving your time to help the trail running community.
Volunteer shifts will last up to approximately 4–4.5 hours, depending on the marshal location along the course. Exact timings will be confirmed before the event.
