Volunteer Community Gardener, Florist and Digital Content Creator

Detailed Description

You will be the lead community gardener, florist and digital content creator across two sites: Osterley Park and House (a National Trust site) and Bixley Fields Allotment in Southall. Your role is to plan, prepare and maintain the growing beds and cut-flower rows, guide community participants through seasonal cut-flower planting, harvesting, flower arranging and help create content that documents the community garden and allotment progress for Flowerphul's online social media channels and website.

Why these skills are required

Who we are looking for ● Solid practical experience growing flowers, vegetables or both (allotment, garden or professional). ● Knowledge of seasonal British cut flowers, and sustainable growing methods. ● Floristry experience of making arrangements. A certified qualification is a bonus. ● Warm, patient and confident working with people of all ages and abilities. ● Experience of filming and photography (this is a content-rich project). ● Reliable, self-motivated and happy working outdoors in all weather. ● An interest in community development, wellbeing or social enterprise is a bonus.

Time Commitment

Weekly schedule Wednesdays (3 hours): Osterley Park and House, Jersey Road, Isleworth TW7 4RB. Community cut-flower garden sessions with participants. Planting, tending, harvesting, making arrangements and group learning. Saturdays (3 hours): Bixley Fields Allotment, Southall. Plot maintenance, propagation, making arrangements and content creation.
