Support our chef with preparing nutritious meals to service in our community kitchens!
Volunteers at our New Horizons Centre play a key role in delivering our weekly daytime and evening Community Kitchen. Volunteers at Sufra foodbank location support our chef in preparing nutritious meals for our Fresh Meal Service. This role involves cooking and food preparation tasks, as well as helping to maintain a clean, and safe kitchen environment. It’s a rewarding opportunity to work as part of a friendly team and make a positive difference in the community.

Cleaning & Tidying
A volunteer in the community kitchen will be required to: - Complete basic food preparation – e.g., peeling, chopping, plating food. - Have an awareness of health and safety practices, including safe handling and carrying of knives and other kitchen equipment. - Have the ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of kitchen staff. - Have basic cleaning skills, including cleaning sides, sweeping and mopping. - Be a friendly and empathetic character with the ability to work alongside other staff and volunteers in a busy kitchen environment.

The role is flexible, however ideally volunteers will be able to complete at least one 3 hours shift every 1/2 weeks.
