What We’re Looking For Strong financial background (accountancy or financial management). A recognised accountancy qualification is not essential but desirable Understanding of charity finance and governance. Ability to explain financial matters clearly to non-financial trustees. Ability to think strategically and offer sound advice and judgment.
Trustees have overall control of a charity and are responsible for making sure it’s doing what it was set up to do. Trustees are the people who lead the charity and decide how it is run. Being a trustee means making decisions that will impact on people’s lives. Depending on what the charity does, you will be making a difference to your local community or to society as a whole. Trustees use their skills and experience to support their charities, helping them achieve their aims. Trustees also often learn new skills during their time on the board. Trustees are the main force pressing the organisation to the realisation of its opportunities for service and the fulfilment of its objectives to the organisation’s users, staff, volunteers, funders and wider community.
Monthly hybrid board meeting, your appointment as Treasurer means we will set up a finance and business support committee and the main board may move to bi-monthly or quarterly meetings. Annual in person planning meeting
