The Feminist Justice Coalition seeks experienced lawyers and barristers to supervise law students
The Feminist Justice Coalition (FJC) is seeking experienced lawyers and barristers to supervise and oversee the work of exceptional law students from some of England's leading universities, including Cambridge, LSE, UCL, King's, Oxford Brookes, SOAS, and others. This is a rare opportunity to shape the next generation of legal changemakers while contributing to groundbreaking work supporting women in the criminal justice system.

- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Academic (England & Wales or equivalent jurisdiction). - Experience in criminal justice, prison law, public law, human rights, family law, or related areas desirable but not essential. - Strong legal drafting and review skills – able to supervise letters, complaints, submissions, and casework prepared by students. - Mentorship and leadership ability – patience, empathy, and willingness to guide law students in trauma‑informed practice. - Commitment to feminist and anti‑racist principles – understanding of systemic inequalities affecting women in the justice system. - Excellent communication skills – able to provide clear, constructive feedback and ensure accuracy in casework. - Organisational awareness – capable of overseeing multiple student case assignments and ensuring deadlines are met. - Flexibility and reliability – able to dedicate at least 5 hours per week, remotely or in person, with consistency. - Trauma‑informed approach – sensitivity to clients’ lived experiences and ability to safeguard dignity and rights. - Collaborative mindset – willingness to work with other supervisors, advocacy partners, and the Coalition’s leadership team.
