Referrals and Drop In Volunteer

To aid the team in managing, meeting and processing Street Storage referrals and appointments.
The role of referral and drop in volunteer will be to support the Referrals and Storage Coordinator in the day to day running of the drop-in service, including the following: - Corresponding with referral agencies and people who use the service via phone/email and arranging check ins for people storing at the service. - Storing and retrieving luggage and recording belongings in taken and leave folder - Maintain accurate, up-to-date records using our digital systems (Salesforce, databases, etc.). - Ensure that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or circumstances. - Support the service’s efforts to maintain a clean and organised space for people who use the service and staff alike.

The skills required for the role are as follows: - Good interpersonal skills: the ability to welcome people in a friendly and efficient manner and work in 1:1 interviews as well as have good telephone skills/email administration - Ability to recognise and respond calmly to tense or escalating situations, using effective de-escalation techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone. - Passion for the service and empathy for those who use it - Administrative skills: the ability to work, when trained, to established referral systems - Computer Skills: Ability to use Word/Excel/Scannable App/Email Servers - Previous sector volunteering is highly desirable but not required
