The Royal Gunpowder Mills is a 170 acre site protected for its’ industrial heritage and natural history. We open to the public to share the exhibitions and offer tours and activities. The charity’s aims are to protect, preserve and enhance the special aspects of the site and to share the story of the industrial and social history, the science and the nature. Become one of the team working front of house ensuring visitors get the most out the experience of being at this historic and natural site. There are various things to see and do so visitors appreciate having a friendly face to help them

Managing People
We seek someone: - With the ability to project a good impression and image through self-presentation and manner. - Who is reasonably confident with their communication skills including, listening, observing, answering questions and explaining clearly and effectively. - Able to work with a wide range of the public in a calm, helpful and friendly way. - Who has an interest in heritage/nature/history/science - With the ability and enthusiasm to keep up-to-date with RGM’s facilities and events.
Gain work experience in a Heritage environment Develop Skills and knowledge To be part of a team providing a high quality service to visitors Having the opportunity to spend time on a worthwhile project To work in a social environment Experience of working for a charity Gain experience in a public facing role To learn about the science, history and nature of this fascinating site Free attendance to our events and training courses (as availability allows)
Approximately once a week, mainly weekends, there is also opportunity for some weekdays.
