As Studio & Technical Manager at Westside Radio, you’ll be the go-to person for everything that keeps our station sounding great. You’ll oversee the technical side of broadcasting and help maintain a smooth, professional experience for our young volunteer presenters and producers. Working closely with the Station Manager and Head of Programming, you’ll: • Manage and maintain studio equipment, mixers, and broadcast software • Support volunteers with setup, recording, and live broadcasting • Troubleshoot sound or streaming issues and keep the station on air • Advise on upgrades, new tech, and best practices for smooth operations • Help train volunteers in basic studio use and audio production • Ensure a consistent, high-quality sound across shows This is a great role for someone who loves radio, audio tech, and creative problem-solving, and wants to share that knowledge with the next generation of broadcasters. You’ll join a small, friendly team based in Hanwell, West London, who value teamwork, inclusion, and creativity.
Westside Radio gives young Londoners a platform to learn, create, and share their voices through radio. For many of our volunteers, it’s their first experience in broadcasting — so having reliable technical support makes all the difference. As our Studio & Technical Manager, you’ll keep the station running smoothly and sounding professional. Your skills will help us stay on air, deliver great audio quality, and give every young broadcaster the confidence to perform live. You’ll also play a big part in training and inspiring new volunteers, passing on practical knowledge that empowers them to take ownership of their work. Your contribution keeps the heartbeat of the station strong — helping us stay connected to the community, promote young talent, and celebrate London’s vibrant urban culture through music and creativity.
