As Head of Programming you’ll shape the creative direction of our station and help guide our team of young presenters, producers, and trainees. Working with the Station Manager and Training Lead, you’ll: - Plan and manage the weekly show schedule - Support presenters with ideas, structure, and content development - Keep a strong mix of Hip Hop, R&B, and community-driven shows - Maintain good broadcast standards and Ofcom compliance - Mentor young volunteers, helping them grow skills and confidence on air - Bring fresh ideas to boost our sound and audience reach This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who lives and breathes urban youth culture and wants to help the next generation of broadcasters thrive. You’ll join a friendly, creative volunteer team in Hanwell, West London, where collaboration and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do.
We’re looking for someone with a real passion for radio, music, and youth culture — especially Hip Hop and R&B. You’ll understand the sound, energy, and values that define London’s urban scene. Essential qualities: • Creative thinker with good organisational skills • Confident leading and mentoring volunteers • Supportive, patient, and able to bring out the best in others • Collaborative, community-minded, and flexible Experience: • Background in radio programming, presenting, or production • Understanding of Ofcom guidelines and broadcast standards • Experience working with or supporting young people in creative settings • Familiarity with digital radio or online broadcasting tools is a plus This role suits someone who loves helping others grow, enjoys shaping great content, and believes in the power of community radio to make a difference.
