Depaul UK’s Nightstop service provides emergency accommodation for young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness in the spare bedrooms of volunteer hosts. Nightstop hosts open their homes to provide a safe, welcoming space for one night or a few nights, helping young people avoid unsafe living situations and begin rebuilding their lives. What You’ll Do as a Nightstop Host: Offer a spare room for a young person in crisis to stay overnight. Provide a warm evening meal, breakfast, and access to basic amenities like a shower. Be a compassionate and non-judgmental presence. How It Works: Hosts choose the nights they’re available—complete flexibility to fit your schedule. Nightstop staff match young people to suitable hosts and ensure all parties feel supported. Young people arrive in the in the evening and leave the next morning.
