We have a thriving programme of community engagement which takes place both at our Museum in Hendon and out and about in the community. Detailed Description

The RAF Museum is committed to engaging with our local community – sharing and involving our community with the story of the RAF and Historic Hendon. We have a thriving programme of community engagement which takes place both at our Museum in Hendon and out and about in the community. We connect with families, young people, older residents and local groups. We are looking for Community Engagement volunteers to help us to continue this work and allow us to expand what we can offer. The role is really varied: one day you could be helping local children make and drop mini parachutes, another you might be assisting with an object handling session at a Barnet care home - you can pick and choose which events and sessions suit you. What you will be doing: Supporting at local outreach sessions – both at our museum and out in the community, helping to prepare for outreach events and to pack down after events (if you feel able), helping to plan and deliver outreach activities, providing a warm, friendly welcome to our local community, taking photographs of outreach activities and collecting feedback from participants. If you have questions, require further information or need assistance with your application please contact volunteering@rafmuseum.org or call 020 8205 2266 and ask to speak to a member of the Volunteering Team.
