The Leprosy Mission

Do you enjoy public speaking and presenting? Can you inspire others to be passionate about transforming lives? If soThe Leprosy Mission would love to hear from you!

Detailed Description

The Leprosy Mission is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with 140 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. As a leading international Christian development charity, we work in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives. Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them. Jesus healed people with leprosy, and this role is an amazing opportunity to continue this work and bring hope in His name. Can you make a difference for people affected by leprosy? We’re looking for inspirational communicators who will enjoy championing our work at churches and community groups, both in person and on Zoom. The role is flexible in terms of hours, as we want it to be the best fit for you as you generously offer your skills and time. You’ll be given ongoing support, training and resources from your Community Partnership Manager, who is only ever a phone call away. You may also have the exciting opportunity to visit our projects overseas. The qualities and experience The Leprosy Mission looks for include; • A clear and audible voice with the confidence to speak publicly • A passion for the work of The Leprosy Mission • A willingness to learn about leprosy as a disease and the effects on individuals and communities • A good understanding of technologies such as Zoom meetings and Microsoft Office. • Internet connection, access to emails and the ability to undertake simple administrative tasks like completing a meeting booking form. • A UK driving license.
