Learning Team Volunteer

Creekside Education Trust

Supporting the Learning Deliverers at Creekside who are responsible for the delivery of educational programmes. We deliver school sessions for over 5,000 children a year and run a wide variety of family activities throughout the year. Learning Team Volunteers assist with the delivery of these sessions before, during, and after the groups visit. Working as part of a team volunteers help prepare equipment and interact with visiting adults and young people throughout the day.

Detailed Description

1. Support the Learning Deliverers with physically active group activities. 2. Assist with promoting Creekside Discovery Centre and our activities. This can include contribution to our social media accounts and our website. 3. Assist the Learning Deliverers with all relevant health and safety procedures and practices including risk assessment prior to visits and on the day 4. Setting up and clearing away before and after sessions. This can include tidying, sweeping, organising resources, moving tables, chairs and benches and tidying bathrooms. 5. Complete any other task reasonably requested by the Learning Deliverers.

What is in it for you

This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for a trainee teacher, or anyone interested in career opportunities in environmental education and learning outside the classroom. We are offering volunteer placements which can be flexible in terms of days and duration, but which require a regular commitment. The core hours for a Learning Team Volunteer are 09.30-15.00. Our Learning Deliverers are employees or freelance staff and we have recruited some freelance staff from our volunteers in the past. There may be an opportunity to join our freelance Learning Deliverer team.
