Elf squad and refreshment volunteers
Haven House Children's Hospice
We are looking for volunteers to help us run our popular Haven House Grotto in December.
We are looking for people that have experience in engaging with children and families and are happy and enthusiastic. For this role we would need you to wear full costumes (these will be provided). There will be a staff member available on each shift to support with the running of the day. By helping to run this grotto in the local community it will enable us to engage with more members of the local community raise funds and awareness of the work we do. Duties include : Meeting and greeting Engaging and chatting with the children Spreading the magic of Christmas Helping serve refreshments

Although there is no specific training or skills for this role we do expect the volunteers to be confident in dealing with children and families. Volunteers need to be cheerful in the role.
There will be refreshments on site for volunteers. It will be a great opportunity to get in the Christmas spirit.
Volunteers can chose to do an AM/PM or all day shift. Sessions will run each weekend in December and there will be some Fridays included in this. Morning sessions are 9am - 1pm and afternoon sessions 1pm - 5pm. There will be some refreshments on site but if volunteers want to bring lunch or any extra refreshments it is advised that they do as the shops are not nearby.

The garden centre is quite far from public transport links so we are happy to help with taxi's from Chingford Station.
