Soup kitchen volunteers

Detailed Description

Prepare heathy meals for clients at our weekly soup kitchen. Must have a food hygiene certificate and experienced in working in this capacity as a head cook, or an assistant. If you can spare a few hours each week (Tuesday's) we would love to hear from you. Don't want to cook?, we need help to serve food and clean up after service. Join us in making a difference in the live of someone in need.

Why these skills are required

Organise and plan meals on a weekly basis, you will help prepare nourishing meals, washing, peeling, chopping and cooking various menu items to be served. You will ensure the food area to clean and always tidy, ensuring the food is prepared in a clean and hygienic manner. Setting up tables for service i.e. cutlery, napkins and drinks. Assisting with the service and washing utensils and dishes after use and making sure the kitchen is tidy after use. We need you to be friendly, approachable and positive. Working in a fair and non-judgemental manner. Work as part of a team, self-motivated and able to work independently.
