Geeky Beats Big Band is seeking a motivated and organized volunteer to join us as our PR / Band Manager. If you love geek culture and enjoy building connections, this role lets you contribute to the success and growth of a unique amateur big band based in London. This is a volunteer role ideal for someone who wants to gain experience with public relations, event coordination, and band management in a supportive and creative environment. An interest in the band’s geek culture focus is important, music expertise is helpful but not essential.

Key Responsibilities: ● Act as a main contact for venues, press, and collaborators, alongside the Chair and designated committee members. ● Write and distribute press releases, gig announcements, and promotional materials. ● Coordinate closely with the Volunteer Social Media Manager to present consistent messaging. ● Handle booking inquiries and liaise with venues on gig details. ● Communicate in a professional and positive manner aligned with our values of inclusivity and enthusiasm for geek culture. ● Support member communications, volunteer coordination, and event logistics as applicable. Ideal Candidate: ● Passionate about geek culture and community-driven art projects. ● Good written and verbal communicator. ● Organized, dependable, and proactive. ● Some experience in PR, event management, or related fields is a bonus but not required.

Flexible - we need someone to help publicise the band by contacting potential venues, writing press releases, and assisting in non-musical band operations.
