Graphic Designer and/or Illustrator

West Hampstead Women's Centre

This Graphic Design and/or Illustration role involves designing or contributing elements to our annual report, leaflets, invitations, poetry books, and other publications by creating new designs and using existing WHWC elements. We are happy to hear from graphic designers as well as illustrators as both skills can help us design our publications and reports.

Detailed Description

Responsibilities will vary according to the volunteer’s individual skills but may include: • Designing our annual report, leaflets, invitations, poetry books, and other publications using existing WHWC elements and creating new designed elements. • Choosing the appropriate media and style to match the centres’ brand and to create design solutions for a range of projects. • Making use of your Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator skills to work on formatting and lay out, using your original designs or illustrations, and existing WHWC designs. • Helping occasionally to create material for advertising, social media or editorial purposes. • Maintain clear communication with WHWC.

• Creative flair to produce new ideas and concepts to contribute to design artwork. • A professional approach and experience of design and creative work. • Up-to-date knowledge, of one or all, of the following software: Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. • Have access to Photoshop and InDesign to be able to work from home. • Good listening skills in order to understanding the centre’s need before making design decisions. • Be reliable and committed • Understanding of constraints of printing cost, time, and especially tight deadlines. • Good proofreading skills to produce accurate and high-quality work

Close to West Hampstead tube, overground and Thameslink stations. Buses 139 and 328 stop 'Woodchurch Road' is at the top of our street.
