Volunteer with us to welcome parents, reduce isolation, and help families connect with the community
We are looking for volunteers who can support parents and young children attending our weekly groups. Volunteers play an integral role in caring for children and supporting isolated parents. There is no need to be an expert, just enthusiastic about children and willing to invest time to build relationships that make a world of difference. Working alongside Parent Action, you will: - Welcome and support parents who join Parent Action. - Help families connect with local services and community opportunities. - Support the group's workshops and activities. - Contribute to local campaigns.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. You do not need professional experiences, just: - Reliable - Creative - A good listener who can build relationships with the families who attend - Patient, kind and enjoys working with children - A team player willing to support other volunteers, and staff members and learn together - Desire to be involved in making change and motivate others for social change Languages other than English such as Spanish are a plus, but not essential.
- Gain experience in health and social care and an opportunity to offer your skills to support the wider community. - Receive free training in family support, metal health, and leadership. - Build confidence, communication, ad leadership skills. - Gain experience in childcare and child development. - Develop your leadership skills through organising and running different events and activities. - Utilise and strengthen your confidence and interpersonal skills. - Update your CV and gain a reference if needed. - Meet new people and become part of a beautiful community of parents and volunteers.
We run a weekly calendar of activities, hosted by our Parent Action staff team, where families can spend time together in a safe environment. Volunteer could commit to support any of our groups in the next schedule during the term: -Monday morning from 9:30 am to 12: 30 - Monday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:45 pm - Tuesday from 9:30 am to 12:45 - Wednesday from 9:30 am to 12:45 (Spanish speaker) - Friday from 9:30 am to 12:45
