We are looking for trauma-related support from a highly trained mental health professional.
You will be dedicated to supporting individuals who have experienced psychological trauma resulting from dealing with a wide array of experiences, such as abuse, violence or loss. This role is critical in helping us process distressing events, develop coping strategies, and regain a sense of safety and well-being. The trauma therapist will apply evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of the team ensuring a compassionate, empathetic, and ethical approach throughout the healing journey.
Advice, Information & Support
Counselling
• Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to determine the nature and extent of trauma. Use a variety of diagnostic tools, interviews, and standardized questionnaires to formulate a clear picture and inform treatment planning. • Treatment Planning: Advise on intervention strategies and expected outcomes. Collaborate with the team to ensure plans are person-centred, measurable, and adaptable. • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based trauma-focused therapies suited to the needs of traumatised individuals. • Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate psychological support and stabilization for those individuals experiencing acute distress. Introduce de-escalation techniques and safety planning as required. • Education: Provide information on coping skills, self-care strategies, and available resources. • Progress Monitoring: Monitor progress against treatment goals, and adjust interventions as necessary. Utilize outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy. • Ethical Practice: Follow professional codes of conduct and maintain strict confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and respect for autonomy.
