Scouts Team Member

16th Bermondsey Scouts

Become a Scouts team member, help our amazing and strong-minded young people, and have fun!

Detailed Description

If you join us as a Scouts Team Member you'll learn how to pitch a tent, light a campfire and build dens. Or, maybe you’ll try out juggling, sketching or parascending. It’s not just our young people that gain skills for life, but our Team Members, too. We meet weekly in term-time on a Frday evening (7-9pm), and we're looking for someone who can show up weekly or fortnightly, support activities, and (with support and training) plan and run activities as well. You'll have a lot of fun and know you're providing amazing opportunities for young people in Bermondsey. Get in touch!

What skills are required for this role

Managing People, Organising & Planning

Why these skills are required

Bring an enthusiasm for working with young people and a willingness to get stuck in -- we will provide any training needed! We are ideally looking for someone willing (over time and with support) to start planning some of our activities and programme as well as being an extra pair of hands at meetings.

What is in it for you

Scouts volunteers learn just as much as the young people do, about leadership and organisation, as well as practical skills. You'll get to work with other adults, too, and have a fun time. Volunteering looks great on your CV and it's good for your mental health!

Time Commitment

We have meetings every Friday 7-9pm in termtime, but you needn't be available every single week. We work as a team to cover meetings.
