Detailed Description

As a scriptwriter, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and crafting engaging scripts that bring real stories to life with authenticity, sensitivity, and dramatic flair. This role demands a passion for justice, honest storytelling, a sharp journalistic instinct, and a commitment to ethical reporting within the true crime and justice genres. You will write compelling, well-structured scripts for episodes ranging from single-case deep-dives to thematic explorations of justice and crime.

Why these skills are required

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Criminology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). • Minimum 3 years of scriptwriting experience, preferably in audio/podcast formats, television, radio, or documentary production. • Proven portfolio of narrative scripts, particularly within the crime, justice, or investigative genres. • Strong research, analytical, and fact-checking skills. • Ability to distil complex information into clear, engaging storytelling. • Excellent command of written and spoken English, with attention to narrative pacing, tone, and audience engagement. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. • Familiarity with audio production processes, podcast formats, and scripting software. • Demonstrated commitment to ethical journalism and sensitivity when handling difficult material. • Experience working collaboratively in creative environments.
