IT Volunteer
Middlesex Association for the Blind
The IT volunteers will support the work of our IT trainer within a given borough, visiting our service users in their homes and helping them get connected in the way most suited to them.
Our IT service provides support and training for people with visual impairment in the boroughs in which we operate. Our service users may already have computer systems in place, and just need further support, or may know nothing as yet about how to join the online world. They might want to learn how to use the talkback facilities on their mobile phone, or how to make use of AI apps for people with visual impairment. They may want to learn to touch type, to email, to search the internet, or to do online shopping or banking. They may have Alexa or Siri installed in their home, but not know how best to make use of this technology. If they don’t yet have a device, we can help them to choose a mobile phone, an iPad, a tablet or a computer to best suit their needs.
