LRMN Migrant Hub
Our Migrant Hub sessions provide food support for the most vulnerable and people from low-income backgrounds. We need volunteers to support us by regularly collecting food donations/surplus from supermarkets and stores.
LRMN supports refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants a specialist and holistic service. We advocate for people’s rights, campaign for wider change, meet their basic needs and help them improve their wellbeing. Our Migrant Hub sessions offer Migrants specialist advice, refreshments and a hot meal. We provide food support for the most vulnerable and people from low-income backgrounds. We need volunteers to support us by regularly collecting food donations/surplus from supermarkets and stores. We are currently looking for people available to collect food donations/surplus on a weekly basis on one or more of the follow days/times: Sunday afternoons (Welling), Mondays (Woolwich/Charlton). You will be provided with the training needed to perform the role and will have the opportunity to join training with the whole LRMN team.

We’re looking for volunteers who: 1. Have and are happy to use their own vehicle 2. Have a full clean driver’s licence (no more than 6 points) 3. Are physically fit and able to load and unload stock 4. Have good communication and interpersonal skills 5. Are passionate about supporting migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers 6. Able to commit to volunteering once a week for 6 months
By volunteering with LRMN, you will: Gain experience of volunteering in a front-line/grassroots support organisation. Help provide struggling refugee and migrant families with food support. Be provided expenses for use of your own car at the rate of £0.45/mile for under 10,000 miles and £0.25 for over 10,000 miles. Be provided lunch expenses if volunteering a full day (minimum of 5 hours) up to the value of £6.
