1st Cheam Scout Group
Manages the 1st Cheam Scout Group in delivering its' objectives by working with adult volunteers.
The Lead Volunteer manages the 1st Cheam Scout Group’s team of volunteers and supports the wider Group to ensure it runs effectively,provides great opportunities and fun activities for young people in ages 6yrs through to 14yrs, and that the Group develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association. This role can be immensely satisfying and rewarding by making a real difference to the development of young people in our community. This role require a dedicated, energetic and inspiring leader who is passionate about delivering the very best for our Beavers, Cubs & Scouts.

The main role of the GLV is to manage the Group's leadership team in delivering the aims of the organisation. This requires great interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with, enthuse, organise and encourage the Group's adult volunteer, parents, Trustees of the Group and its' wider supporters. It requires good planning and organisation skills.
An opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by shaping their development within the Scouting framework. It also provides great social interactions with other volunteers and can lead to lifelong friendships.
The time commitment and days of delivery vary depending on the activities engaged in. Our Beavers, Scouts and Cubs meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday evenings respectively and the Group Lead Volunteer (GLV) would typicallyvisit each of these once a month. There are quarterly Trustee meetings and the GLV wouls usually arrange volunteers meetings for the Group's volunteers to meet together about 4 times a year. Many administrtaion and communication activities can be carried out at home. and Typically the role will require up to 8 hours spread across a week of which about 60% can be managed from home.
