Volunteer Mentor

ReachOut

Are you looking for a volunteering opportunity which will make a real difference in young people’s lives? Become a ReachOut volunteer mentor and make an impact in your local community. You will take part in weekly after-school clubs for primary and secondary school students designed to help them develop their character, grow in confidence and improve their academic attainment!

Detailed Description

ReachOut are looking for volunteers across London who want to give two hours a week over the course of an academic year to mentor a young person in need of a positive role model.   You will be involved in one of our weekly after-school ReachOut Projects, working with either primary or secondary school students. Our sessions are fun and engaging, involving both group activities and one-to-one discussions. As a mentor you will be paired with a young person, who you will work with each week over the course of the school year, helping them to develop their character, exceed their goals and grow in confidence.  All of our projects start during the Autumn, each running for different lengths of time so that you can pick the type of project that best suits you! We run sessions from Monday through to Thursday across a range of locations within London. You can pick a project which runs in the afternoons or the evenings, so you will be sure to find something that fits in with your schedule. We do ask that you commit to the full duration of the project as this allows for the best mentee-mentor relationships to form and creates the strongest impact for our young people.  We are currently looking for volunteers for the 2024/25 academic year! If this sounds like something you are interested in, please sign up on our website and we will be in touch with you over the summer about attending your mentor training session, all ready for you to start in the Autumn.

Throughout your time volunteering you will also receive ongoing support. Each session is led by an experienced Project Leader who is always on hand to offer support and answer your queries.

What is in it for you

Whether or not you've worked with young people before we would love to have you come and mentor with us.
