Helping Volunteer
The Listening Place
Helping Volunteers perform a variety of admin tasks with a cheerful and helpful attitude, i.e. booking new appointments on our database, setting up rooms for appointments, checking voicemails, drafting emails and supporting the shift as necessary. They're a friendly face at reception, i.e. meeting and greeting our visitors, offering support if they become distressed, and offering refreshments.
The Listening Place is a volunteer-led charity aiming to transform how we support people who feel suicidal. We are currently seeking people to join our team as Helping Volunteers. Helping Volunteers are a vital part of shifts here at The Listening Place; in this role, you will be responsible for welcoming visitors onto our premises, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere (along with a cup of tea), and supporting our Listening Volunteers to help everything run smoothly.
