To work with the Play Leader of the Family Link Saturday Club at the Hawes Down Centre, to provide disabled children with an exciting and challenging programme of activities in a safe and stimulating environment.

Detailed Description

We are a small charity seeking motivated Voluntary Play Workers to help deliver a Saturday youth club for disabled children to enhance the experiences of children and young people. You would be responsible for providing support and care (including supporting personal care) to children and young people with varying needs. If you feel you can make a difference to the life of children and young people with a disability and promote their access to exciting club activities, then this role at the Hawes Down Centre is for you.

Why these skills are required

To ensure that all children attending the club are offered stimulating activities to meet their individual needs: - encourage an exciting and enjoyable atmosphere - attend to the children's personal care where necessary (this may include assisting with meals, dressing, or meeting personal care needs) - encourage disabled children to be independent and self-confident, maximising opportunities to reach their full potential - ensure positive relationships and open communications are maintained with parents/carers. - Volunteers must be over 18yrs of age.
