Workshop Volunteer

We Belong . Life

This is an empowering place for women. We want to increase community connections and in doing so reduce loneliness and social isolation. We mainly need people on the second Thursday of the month 4.30pm – 8pm at Swiss Cottage Library. We run workshops in the Old Diorama Arts Centre near Euston on the last Sunday afternoons of the month from 12.50pm to 6pm. You do not have to stay the show time you can just help us set up then leave. We would love to recruit mostly women for gender balance.

Detailed Description

Ideally we would like to recruit 12 women and 4 men to help. The reason we would appreciate more women is because many more men book up for our events and we would love to have a gender balance. If possible we would have at least 6 women join us for our fun conscious connection events on the last sunday afternoon of the month. We can take it in turns to come to the events and in return for your presence you can attend the workshop for free! We get very good feedback about our safe and confidential events. Our aim is to create win / win exercises for fun and connection. We encourage people to practice choice and choosing the exercises they want to participate in doing. Team Roles * We want a warm and friendly team to create a warm, laboratory type safe space where we practice being ourselves and asking for what we want. * We need people who are punctual. * We need help with the smooth running of the events. * We want reception team doing the register and getting paperwork completed. We have evaluation sheet at the end. * We want meet and greet people. * We need people to set up the refreshments tables with snacks, cups and water. * We need washing up of cups and plates after the events. * We need people to put out signage and collect it back at the end of the day. * We want people who enjoy cuddling and can be with someone if they are releasing tears and difficult experiences. * Ideally we want people who want to have a fun day Sunday Afternoon! People who enjoy participating and encouraging others but never forcing anyone to do anything. * If anyone can help with social media and marketing that would be amazing!

You get to join the first community interest company of it's kind offering conscious connection, communication, boundaries, consent and platonic hugs and cuddles for health and wellbeing. we create a warm, safe space of people where we get to fully practice being our authentic selves. We practice choice, asking for what you want and exploring your boundaries around your physical touch. These events are always clothed, always non sexual, platonic contact. Even as a volunteer you get to choose where you participate. You empower yourself with decisions you make for yourself. We really value women and encourage them to practice asking for what you want and saying what you do not want. You will generally come away feeling nurtured and nourished. We Welcome
We particularly welcome women, those who identify as such or as non-binary. These events are particularly useful for trauma healing and practicing platonic contact with men, in a safe space. Respectful men, like the ones that come to our workshops, are very healing to the wounds of women. I would love to welcome ex military as I believe hugs and cuddles are a deeply untapped form of trauma therapy. People self select for these roles. We want 'people people' and they come in all forms, shapes and sizes, so people who want healing through platonic touch are particularly welcomed.
